There are very few towns or villages throughout Switzerland without their own, special market so here is just a selection of some markets in the cantons of Zürich, Lucerne, Basel, Berne and Zug

Zürich Canton

Wednesday Altstetten: Fruit, vegetables, plants, honey bread, cheese, mushrooms and organic produce. From 06:00 to 11:00 on Lindenplatz
Marktplatz Oerlikon: Zürich's largest market with fruit, vegetables, bread, cheese, meat, spices, a variety of organic articles and plants. From 06:00 to 11:00, on Bahnhof Oerlikon
Zürich Main Station: Speciality market selling cheeses, organic vegetables, cured meats and bread. From 10:00-20:00 at Hauptbahnhof
Thursday Rosenhof Market: Swiss handcrafts, gourmet foods, clothing, jewellery, ceramics, precious stones, leather goods and antiques. Open March to December, 10:00 to 20:00. At Rosenhof
Friday Buerkliplatz: International market in the centre of the city of Zürich. Flowers, plants, fruit and vegetables, organic products and exotic articles from around the world. From 06:00 to 11:00
Helvetiaplatz: General market with local and exotic specialities. From 06:00 to 11:00

Markt auf der Rathausbruecke: Market nicknamed Gemüsebrücke (vegetable bridge) with a popular history in Zurich. As well as fruit, vegetables and spices the markets also has homemade and seasonal specialities. From 06:00 to 12:00 at Limmatquai, on the Rathausbruecke
Rosenhof Market: Swiss handcrafts, gourmet foods, clothing, jewellery, ceramics, precious stones, leather goods and antiques. Open March to December, 10:00 to 17:00. At Rosenhof
Buerkliplatz Flea Market: Antiques, secondhand goods, jewellery and other valuables. From May to October, 08:00 to 16:00. Located at Buerkliplatz
Kanzlei Flea Market: Huge flea market with secondhand goods including art, furniture, jewellery, cameras, books, toys, clothing and antiques. Crèche service available between 12:00 and 14:00 for children aged 3 to 8 (except during summer holidays. Open 08:00 to 16:00 at Kanzleistrasse 56

Handicrafts Market: Market selling homemade arts and crafts from local artists and craftsmen. Open from 07:00 to 16:00, on the first Saturday of the month, between April and November. In December it becomes a Christmas market. Located on the Weinmarkt

Brogge Maert: Crafts market on the wooden bridge of the Reuss, which connects Huenenberg with Sins
